The Blue Hill Inn is a historic, pet-friendly inn located on two acres in the center of the village of Blue Hill, one block from the head of Blue Hill Bay.
Built in 1830, the Federal-period inn is part of the Blue Hill Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building retains many original architectural features, including clapboard siding, nine-over-six windows, wide pine floorboards and multiple fireplaces. Guest accommodations include a collection of individually appointed rooms, along with a sun-filled dining room and two shared parlors.
The grounds feature heritage elm trees, perennial gardens, fruit trees and several outdoor seating areas, including a hammock, offering quiet spaces to relax within walking distance of the village.
Innkeepers and staff are familiar with the surrounding area and provide local guidance on dining, boating, live music, shopping and outdoor recreation. Many restaurants, shops and cultural attractions are within walking distance.
The Blue Hill Inn emphasizes environmentally responsible practices, including working with local farmers and fishermen, composting food waste and recycling where possible.
