Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park is a historic coastal landmark in Bristol, overlooking the entrance to Muscongus Bay and Johns Bay. Commissioned in 1827 by John Quincy Adams, Pemaquid Point Light remains one of Maine’s most photographed lighthouses, set amid dramatic granite ledges and open ocean views.
The park is owned and managed by the Town of Bristol through the Bristol Parks and Recreation Department and is open seasonally from mid-May through mid to late October. Visitors can explore the lighthouse grounds, picnic areas and several interpretive attractions within the park.
The Keeper’s House is home to the Fishermen’s Museum on the first floor, which highlights the working maritime history of the region. An adjacent Learning Center offers additional educational exhibits, while the Pemaquid Art Gallery features rotating works for sale by members of the Pemaquid Group of Artists.
Amenities include public restrooms, picnic areas and WiFi. Admission is charged per person, with children’s rates available, and tickets are valid for the full day, allowing reentry.
