The Chapman-Hall House is a 1754 study house and museum in Damariscotta and the town’s oldest surviving building. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Cape-style home was built by Ipswich, Massachusetts housewright Nathaniel Chapman, who lived there for nearly fifty years.

Guided by trained docents during the summer season, tours explore the home’s original rooms, including the ell, kitchen or keeping room, borning room, yellow bedroom, front entryway, parlor or best room and upstairs chambers. Architectural details, furnishings and everyday artifacts offer a close look at daily life in early Damariscotta.
