Boothbay Railway Village is a living history museum representing a Maine village from the mid-19th through mid-20th centuries. The museum features an assembled collection of preserved historic buildings, narrow-gauge railways, antique automobiles and hands-on demonstrations that reflect daily life and transportation during the period.
Visitors can explore historic town halls, railway stations, homes and commercial buildings, including a chapel still used for weddings. Train rides behind vintage steam or diesel locomotives and rides in antique automobiles are offered as part of the museum experience, along with rotating artisan demonstrations and interactive history activities for children.
Throughout the year, the village hosts special events on the Village Green, including vintage games, car shows and family-oriented festivals. Boothbay Railway Village is located in the coastal community of Boothbay.
