For more than a century, Registered Maine Guides have helped visitors experience Maine’s woods, waters and wild places with confidence and care. First licensed in 1897, these outdoor professionals bring deep, place-based knowledge shaped by years of time on the land and water. Today, more than 6,000 guides are licensed statewide, each qualified through a standardized testing process to lead activities ranging from hunting and fishing to paddling, snowmobiling and primitive camping.
