The Inquisitor by Angela Tucker
(63', Engl., Engl. captions, 2026, US)
Meet Barbara Jordan: a civil rights icon whose powerful voice masked a complex private life.
Explore the life and legacy of Barbara Jordan in The Inquisitor. Jordan was a groundbreaking Texas congresswoman whose sharp intellect and moral clarity transformed U.S. politics. From Nixon's impeachment to civil rights battles, her voice demanded accountability, while she
privately faced struggles few ever knew of.
After-screening Community Conversation
The screening will be followed by a talk facilitated by Emilia Toth (she/her). She is the youth programs manager for League of Women Voters of Maine and Maine Students Vote.
Emilia has lived in Maine since 2022 and recently graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a BA in Women and Gender Studies and a BA in English. Emilia became involved in community organizing and advocacy in high school, when she lived in Nashville, TN. Now a proud New Englander, she is devoted to supporting the next generation of youth leaders and creating opportunities for students to participate in civic engagement work.
