Sea Kayaking: Expedition Planning
Are you a sea kayaker that has been wanting to plan your own multi-day expedition? We have created a four day Sea Kayak Expedition planning course designed to give you the skills to create your own adventure!
As an Outdoor Educator is it important to me to teach people how to recreate in a safe and environmental friendly manner. This four day workshop is designed to give you the confidence to plan your own sea kayaking expedition.
Day 1: Expedition Preparation: Menu planning, Cooking options, Gear, Route planning & Preparation, Safety Considerations
Day 2: Depart for Expedition: Launch etiquette, boat packing, tides, currents, weather, navigation and safety gear. Paddle to campsite. Campsite selection, LNT fire, human waste disposal
Day 3: On Water Navigation: Depart to our second campsite. On water group management considerations. Basic repair kit, first aid kit. Possible re-entries and towing (if conditions allow)
Day 4: Take Out: Managing gear and people at the take out. Strategies for efficiency
What’s included: Sea Kayaks and associated gear Meals: Day 2 lunch through Day 4 lunch Instruction
We will begin at 9:00am on day 1 and finish by 5:00pm on day 4.
