This year's program of New Works features stunning, original pieces created hand-in-hand with other artists and organizations from across the State of Maine. Developed with the theory that artistic partnership creates new forms of beauty and bonds us to each other, Portland Ballet is proud to be the incubator for these newly co-created works. Come witness this year's New Works, as they take the stage for the first time.
We are proud to present the following collaborations:
- Jennifer Jones with Classical Pianist Chiharu Naruse, of Bates College
- Jackson Gormley-Roy with Rebecca Woll, a Maine-based Choreographer with a direct lineage to Isadora Duncan repertoire
- Elliott Evans with Matthew Glassman and Jeremy Eaton, of Chocolate Church Arts Center
- Lydia Wirth with Brian Allen, of Good Theater
- Camille Alipalo with Molly Brown, map maker/visual artist
- Portland Ballet's longstanding partnership with Annie Kloppenberg of Colby College in collaboration with performers and understudies; additional collaborators include: Portland Art Gallery, Splice Ensemble, and Andrew Conklin
