Maine Forestry Museum's 42nd Annual Logging Festival Days July 14 & July 15
Please join us for our 42nd Annual Logging Festival Days on Friday and Saturday, July 14th & 15th. The festival is located at our fairgrounds at 221 Stratton Road, Rt 16 in Dallas Plantation/Rangeley. On Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM we will have wonderful artists, crafters and vendors. Come witness the burying of the beans around 4 PM for our Bean Hole Dinner to be served on Saturday of the festival and tour our museum. There will be children's activities as well. Friday’s admission to the festival is FREE.
Saturday starts out at 10 AM with our popular Logging Parade down Main Street in Rangeley. Come see loaded big rigs, floats, Smokey the Bear, bands, antique cars and more. To participate in the parade, please contact our parade coordinator Linda Sikes at (207-491-6566).
Immediately following the parade, there will be a Birling competition (log rolling) at the shoreline in the town park. Festivities continue throughout the remainder of the day at our fairgrounds from 11 AM to 4 PM. Check out our craft fair with artists, crafters and vendors, music, our famous Bean Hole Dinner, biscuits baked on reflector ovens, wood carving demo’s, barrel train rides for the kids, and many other children’s activities (all children’s activities are free). We have the fantastic Lumberjack and Lumberjill competition with up to $3,000 worth of prizes to be awarded this year! Come watch the Axe Throw, Crosscut, Underhand Chop, Bow Saw, Hot Saw and Standing Block! This is a do not miss for your Rangeley vacation weekend.
