The Maine Chamber Music Seminar at Snow Pond is thrilled to present our FREE Summer 2025 June concert series, which kicks off June 15th with our Faculty Recital featuring Guest Composer, Kenji Bunch. On June 16, we will be playing a Community Concert in Hallowell, ME at the Loudon Hill Center, and then capping off our 2025 season on June 19 & 20 with our three final concerts where participants and faculty will present the pieces they've been preparing at MCMS this summer. Concert programs will span from classical favorites like Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms to contemporary changemakers like Penderecki, Hindemith and Dvorak. All concerts are free and open to the public. The Maine Chamber Music Seminar (MCMS) is a two-week summer intensive for college and graduate-level musicians passionate about pursuing leadership and service through music. Our mission is to develop life-long creative thinkers, compassionate collaborators, and cultural ambassadors through the study of, exposure to, and the performance of chamber music. Program participants focus on two to three major works in the chamber music literature, working alongside a dynamic faculty representing such prestigious organizations as Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, A Far Cry, the American Composers Orchestra, the Horszowski Trio, the Laurel Trio, Borealis Wind Quintet, Ensemble Signal, Sequitur, and Network for New Music. Special attention is be paid to the development of leadership skills and to learning the delicate art of cooperation within an intimate group.
