A bicycle event commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Women's Right to Vote.
Events:
Bicycle Rodeo: Have fun practicing bike handling & safety on a traffic skills course. Suggested ages 4-10. 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. On-site regisration require. All bike riders must wear helmets.
Bicycling & Suffragist Fashion Contest: Bicycling and other sports brought changes to women's clothing - no more frilly skirts or confining corsets! Get into the spirit and come dressed a suffragist or in your biking costume! PRIZES! 10:30 AM
Make a Suffrage Sash: Get creative and show your support for women's right to vote! 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
LEARN MORE at a display from the Maine State Library with a visit to the Maine State Museum Exhibit: Women's Long Road - 100 Years to the Vote
Slow Ride: Join us for a relaxed bike ride starting at the Museum, continuing to and along the Kennebec River Rail Trail and back, 2.5 miles in all. 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All bike riders must wear helmets. On-site registration required.
