Acadia Birding Festival celebrates the rich birdlife of Downeast Maine and the Gulf of Maine through a multi-day series of guided experiences and educational programs. Centered around Mount Desert Island and nearby coastal waters, the festival offers field trips, pelagic boat excursions, paddling adventures, workshops and evening presentations led by experienced birders. Participants may encounter everything from spring warblers and nesting peregrine falcons to puffins and offshore seabirds. Designed for both seasoned birders and curious newcomers, the festival connects visitors with diverse habitats, local expertise and the ecological significance of Maine’s birds through immersive, place-based experiences.
