Winter Adaptive Sports

In Maine, we’re committed to ensuring that everyone can get outside and celebrate our beautiful winters. Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation is dedicated to helping adults and children with disabilities enjoy winter sports in Maine. They offer free programs for downhill skiing, ski racing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and Nordic skiing.

The free lessons, which include your lift ticket or trail pass, equipment, and instruction are held at locations throughout Maine, including Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Black Mountain of Maine, Pineland Farms, and Bethel Village Trails.

Wounded warriors can join winter programs offered by Veterans Adaptive Sports & Training (VAST) at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester. VAST offers snowshoeing, Nordic pole walking and Nordic skiing to veterans with disabilities.
