Doubling Point
Doubling Point Light Station, built in 1898, is one of Maine’s river lights. Most, like this one, light the Kennebec River. Doubling Point is privately owned, but you can access the grounds. Boat tours of this and several other river lights are available. This octagonal tower was placed where the main channel of the Kennebec turns sharply. It sits on a pier, connected to the shore by a walkway. For more information and directions, contact the Friends of the Doubling Point Light.
