  • Begin the day with a hearty breakfast at The Harbor Café, a favorite of the locals.

  • Take the ferry to Isle au Haut aboard The Mail Boat. You will travel through some of the most beautiful islands along the Maine Coast. The Stonington archipelago is breathtaking! There are bike rentals on the island, and a well- marked trail system for hiking.  All season long, The Maine Lobster Lady serves up award winning lobster rolls out of her food truck. Absolutely delicious, and the setting is all Maine!

    Book a Lobster Fishing Scenic Tour on The Mail Boat. Either trip will provide a top-notch experience in this quintessential fishing village.

  • Kick back with a coffee at 44 North Coffee, (On your way off island, be sure to stop in Deer Isle where they roast the beans in a historic schoolhouse). Or treat yourself to a yummy cone at Stonington Ice Cream Company. Both are located on Main Street.

  • Stay at the Inn on the Harbor. Ask for a harbor facing room and get a close look at the goings on in this small but mighty fishing village.

  • Splurge at Aragosta. Try the lobster cakes or lobster tortellini! The views overlooking the harbor are hard to beat on a summer evening.

  • Local Tips:

    Check out the Stonington Farmer’s Market. This is not your average market. Here you will find a blend of farmers, artists, fishermen, bakers and craftspeople. A must.

  • Explore Stonington and area islands in a guided sea kayak tour with Old Quarry Ocean Adventures.

  • Walk up the hill and see a show at the historic Opera House Arts.

  • Stop for chocolate at Black Dinah in downtown Blue Hill.
