Drakes Island Beach
Drakes Island Beach extends from the enormous rock jetty at the entrance to Wells Harbor northward to join with Laudholm Farm Beach. The two beaches combined provide you with more than a half a mile of sand, dunes, sea grass and ocean views. You can set up your umbrella and chairs, spread out the blankets, and enjoy a fun day of swimming, sunbathing and beachcombing. You can also enjoy wave sports such as bodyboarding, skimboarding and surf kayaking. Fishing from the jetty is also a popular activity. Parking is available for a fee and you'll find restrooms nearby. A short path leads from the parking area along the jetty to the beach. It has no lifeguards and no other public facilities.
