Maine Restaurant Week
In Maine, we’re known for our unique approach to things. Maine Restaurant Week (MRW) is a prime example. It’s not a week at all. It’s twelve delicious days in early March when Maine’s eateries and establishments unveil their special prix fixe menus and conduct their annual foodie fantasia. So set your calendars for March 1-12, 2017, and your taste buds to maximum. Once you unfold your napkin, you’ll wonder if twelve days are enough.
This is a superb time to check out some of Maine’s best restaurants, to experience cuisine that’s as diverse as it is delectable – and to taste for yourself what all the national attention on Maine food and drink is all about. With restaurants up and down the coast, and hotels offering special overnight packages, it’s also an excellent time to explore the state and all it has to offer.
While some chefs are planning special tasting menus, all are planning menus that showcase their restaurant's creativity and skill. From mussels to burgers, steak to salmon and more, you'll find it on menus across Maine. Chefs love MRW as a once-a-year opportunity to introduce their favorite dishes and fresh creations to new customers. Diners love it as a one-of-a-kind culinary celebration. Starting to feel hungry? Then take a look online and get a taste of what the chefs are planning.
In addition to the special dinners and lunches, there are a host of fun-loving, food-loving events to look forward to. Tickets for all events should be purchased in advance. Like a Chef’s Special, they tend to go fast. So make sure to plan ahead. And make sure to bring your appetite.

Nine years ago, Maine Restaurant Week became the first statewide event to celebrate the work of Maine's chefs and bartenders. MRW boosts local restaurant and bar business during winter – when it is needed most – helping to sustain Maine’s culinary economy. The local establishments look forward to serving you and all this year’s participants. The pleasure is theirs. And the food and fun, all yours. Enjoy!
