Naples, Maine is nestled in the heart of Maine’s Lakes and Mountains region, surrounded by three large ponds and both Long Lake and Sebago Lake. People have come to Naples for more than a century to enjoy days spent on the water in the summer sun. Leaf-peepers come each fall to see the town aglow in the bright colors of autumn foliage.

Things to Do in Naples

In the winter, the lakes and ponds are great for ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, and in the summer, they are just as enjoyable! You can cruise Long Lake on the Songo River Queen II, an authentic paddle wheeler complete with food and cocktails, or rent any variety of boat from the numerous marinas and be your own captain. Sebago Lake State Park is the perfect spot to spend the day fishing, boating or simply enjoying the lake’s clear waters as you cool off. Camping is available on the 1,400 acres if you want to spend more time at this lovely park.

See this gorgeous part of Maine from the sky on a Seaplane Adventure flight over the lakes and White Mountains for a day you won’t soon forget.

Every Father’s Day weekend, the region celebrates Maine’s blues musicians with the Maine Blues Festival in Naples with events like the Blues Cruise on the Songo River Queen.

Where to Stay in Naples

There are plenty of lodging options in the summer in Naples. The Fox Hollow Cottages on Brandy Pond are perfect for all lakeside activities, and the Lakeview Inn, built in 1906, is a 16-room B&B overlooking Long Lake. There’s also the Augustus Bove House with B&B rooms and cottages.

Restaurants in Naples

A favorite place to eat in Naples is the Black Bear Café – an authentic Irish pub – or enjoy some lakeside dining at Captain Jack’s by the marina on Brandy Pond. Fishermen’s Catch in Raymond is great for all things seafood – lobster rolls and fried clams, or even have them cater your own lobster bake. Don’t miss out on Raymond’s Frozen Custard in Casco, either!
