From above Wells Bay, looking northwest across Laudholm Beach and the Little River estuary to the historic farm that serves as headquarters to the Wells Reserve.
The Wells Reserve is 2,250 acres of protected land, a restored saltwater farm called Laudholm, and a natural haven. And it is open for the public to enjoy every day.
Walk our network of trails to enjoy the beauty of a coastal ecosystem. Explore grasslands, freshwater wetlands, salt marshes, and one of the last undeveloped sand beaches in Maine. Many trails cover a variety of habitats and all offer rich opportunities for discovery.
Explore on your own or join one of many naturalist-led walks. Our calendar lists more than 100 programs each year.
The Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve has a vital partner in Laudholm Trust, a member-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
