Great Cranberry Island Historical Society

Founded in 1993, the Great Cranberry Historical Society, has built a museum on Cranberry Island that houses its expanding collection of photographs, documents, antique furniture, fishing gear and scale models of fishing vessels. In addition to the Preble-Marr Museum, the Society also hosts a cafe, multi-media center and a hiking trail that opens access to the island's back shore with commanding views of the Western Way Passage and Mount Desert Island.
