~ Reading of the Declaration of Independence: 12:00 noon Join Maine Historical Society and former state representative Herb Adams for our annual reading of the Declaration of Independence, an MHS tradition going back more than 20 years! Lemonade and cookies will be served following the reading. Location: Outside the Wadsworth-Longfellow House, Portland Free and open to the public
~ Walking Tours: 10:30 am and 1:00 pm Tour the route of the Great Portland Fire of July 4, 1866. Cost: $15/person. Registration required - call the MHS Museum Store: 207-774-1822.
