Skowhegan State Fair
The Skowhegan State Fair is the nation’s oldest consecutively running agricultural fair. More than a week long, the fair includes live music, carnival rides, demolition derbies, tractor pulls, livestock showings, harness racing, and more.
Then, there are many fairs in Maine that have grown over the decades. But, here in Maine's Kennebec Valley visitors will find the big daddy of them all—The Skowhegan State Fair is one of the nation’s longest-running agricultural fairs. It's been held each year since 1818, making it older than the state itself. There’s a huge midway, animal exhibits, a flower show and harness racing, as well as truck pulls and demo derbies that are obviously newer additions.
