Schoodic Arts for All: Meetinghouse Theatre Lab: WHAT?
A staged reading of four one-act plays by Bruce Pratt.
Bruce Pratt’s collection of four one-act plays, entitled What?, includes “Library Detention,” “Wednesday?,” “Schubert’s Monkey,” and “Absentee Ballot.” In all four plays, one or both of the characters say something that creates a misunderstanding prompting the action. And in all four plays, there is a character that never appears on stage – Schubert, Tracey, Mrs. Harden, and baby. Bruce says it may be part of his fascination with Godot – the presence that is never corporeal but always palpable. Members of The Meetinghouse Theatre Lab present a staged reading of the plays, followed by a short discussion with the playwright, Bruce Pratt, a two-time winner of MHTL’s Maine Playwright’s Award. If you are interested in being part of the reading, please contact Cynthia Thayer, firstname.lastname@example.org.
