MOFGA’s annual conference for farmers provides a great opportunity to talk about what works and what doesn’t while learning new ideas.
MOFGA’s annual conference for farmers provides a great opportunity to talk about what works and what doesn’t while learning new ideas from university faculty, fellow farmers and others. Some of the offerings of this conference will include a pre-conference intensive course on tarping for reduced tillage in small-scale vegetable systems (Saturday); pre-conference farm tours of Balfour Farm in Pittsfield and Snakeroot Farm in Dixmont (buses available for these tours - Saturday); Farmer Social Sustainability Focus Group for healthy farms and farmers (Saturday night); new this year will be some short session options like "Strawberry Pest Management", "Pasturing Pigs", "Nuts & Bolts of Irrigation Ifrastructure", and "Starting your own Farm" among others (Sunday); a keynote address will be given on "Scaling up and Staying Profitable" by Christa Alexander and Mark Fasching, Jericho Settlers Farm (Monday); short sessions on Monday will include "Farming as a Partnership", "Saffron: A Golden Opportunity for Diversified Farmers","Nutriet Management in Pasture", and "Organic Pepper Production" among others. Opportunities for networking, growth, and development for farmers abound at this conference.

Child full meal plan $25, $5 per breakfast and lunch; $10 for the dinner. Meal plans, childcare and child meal options available. All meals include gluten free and vegan options.
