Common Street Arts, together with the members of the Waterville Area Art Society, Harlow Gallery, and the Wesserunsett Arts Council, are hosting Ebb and Flow: Reflections on the Kennebec River. As a natural resource that has served as a defining feature of the towns and cities that surround it, this magnificent waterway has sustained communities for generations through its role in supporting Maine's transportation, logging, forestry, textile and paper industries- as well as its more leisurely role in providing and sustaining recreational pursuits including boating, fishing, and swimming. Artists' work will respond to the Kennebec River and its importance as a unique natural feature that has shaped the history of the central Maine region and landscape. There will be an opening reception at Common Street Arts on August 2nd from 4-6pm. Gallery hours will be Wednesday through Saturday 12:00pm-5:00pm.
