More about the Wabanaki Confederacy: The name Wabanaki Confederacy is a tribute to our alliance we have with the tribes on the East Coast. The Wabanaki Confederacy (Wabenaki, Wobanaki, translated roughly as “People of the First Light” or People of the Dawnland) are a First Nations and Native American confederation of five principal nations: the Mi’kmaq, Maliseet, Passamaquoddy, Abenaki and Penobscot.
This Drum has brought these Nations together on one drum for the people of the First Light to share their sounds and sing their songs for our Brothers and Sisters.
