Dead River Summer Flow Raft Trip

The Dead River is a limited release white water rafting experience with only 8 days of rafting each season. Two of the eight dam releases are at a lower flow level, which offers a much more casual whitewater experience. Saturday June 9th is the first summer flow dam release of 2018. The 6/9/2018 release is scheduled to be 3500 cubic feet per second which is half of the maximum release rate earlier in the season.

The Dead River is New England's most continuous whitewater rafting experience. It's for adventurers seeking an adrenaline-fueled day of class 3, 4, and 5 whitewater rapids. The trip starts just below Grand Falls and goes through 15 miles of class 3 – 5 whitewater rapids. The rafting day ends at the confluence of the Dead and Kennebec Rivers in The Forks, ME. Check the Northern Outdoors Dead River release schedule for all of the available dates in 2018.

Raft trips meet at 7:30 am. We recommend booking one of our many Maine cabin rentals the night before your raft trip. We have options to suit all group sizes and budgets. And at the end of your raft trip you can relax and enjoy one of our Maine craft beers brewed on-site at the Kennebec River Brewery.
