Adventures in Art is a unique program. Artists & guides work together to bring you a Maine Adventure that will inspire, tinder and inform your creative energy.
The beauty, tranquility and changing nature of the natural world has been inipring artists for centuries. This program is designed so that you have the opportunity to go into back country with a guide and yes, you may be pushed out of your comfort zone. Working with a professional artist allows you the opportunity to gain skill and insight into your chosen medium.
Let us take you on a creative journey to Downeast Maine. Experience the majestic sea cliffs and coastal trails of the most easterly point in the United States.
We will explore the cyanotype process. We will investigate the photographic and painterly aspects of this medium. We will use objects collected in the field, hand-made drawings for overlay, and delve into an archive of antique glass-plate negatives that reflect local Maine life circa 1900. This process involves experimentation, discovery and some beautiful results.
We will be staying at West Quoddy Station. Just outside Quoddy Head State Park.
We will meet West Quoddy Station after 4:00PM on Friday May 18th. Departure is at 4:00PM on Sunday May 20th
