Machias Seal Island Lighthouse, established in 1832, is a six-sided tower that sits in Maine waters but is maintained by the Canadian government. It is home to many rare seabirds and a puffin colony, all protected by the Canadian Wildlife Service. This off-shore station is from Cutler and can only be seen by boat.
