SaturdayWife Carrying 17th Annual North American Wife Carrying Championship 11AM slopeside at Souty Ridge Registration opens Monday, August 1, 2016 for the North American Wife Carrying Championship. You do not need to pre-qualify to sign up for this one-of-a-kind event. 33rd Annual Blue Mountain Arts and Crafts Fair 9AM-5PM in South Ridge Lodge Regional artists and artisans exhibit paintings, fine jewelry, pottery, woodworking, photography, and more at this long-standing craft fair with over 40 exhibitors located throughout the South Ridge Lodge. Our vendor space is filled, but anyone looking to be added to the waitlist should email events@sundayriver.com. Music Festival 1PM to 5:30PM slopeside at South Ridge Ghost of Paul Revere is Maine's holler-folk band. They use a masterful combination of melody and energy built on three-part harmonies-somewhere between folk and footstomping bluegrass-that has already given their shows legendary status. Outdoor music Jason Spooner is a multi-award winning New England-based songwriter who has toured extensively over the past few years, sharing the stage with artists like Ray LaMontagne, Guster, Blues Traveler, and more. Wine Tent Noon to 3PM slopeside at South Ridge If you're looking to sample some of the best wines paired with delicate offerings, then head to the Wine Tent. One ticket will get you an etched Sunday River logoed wine glass, samples, and appetizers. Kids' Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest 3PM slopeside at South Ridge Fall Festival is all about welcoming in the new season, and what better way than with pumpkin pie? There is already plenty planned for Mom and Dad, which is why this timed pie eating contest is for kids ages 14 and under! 10 contestants will line up on stage to see who can eat their pumpkin pie the fastest-without hands or silverware. We call this a contest, but honestly, when pie is involved, nobody loses. Kids can sign up at the event on Saturday afternoon at the center stage. Entry is free. Sunday 33rd Annual Blue Mountain Arts and Crafts FairWooden Moose 9AM-3PM in South Ridge Lodge 3rd Annual New England Corn Hole Championship 10AM slopeside at South Ridge Grab a partner and start practicing now because $600 is up for grabs on Sunday, along with the title of New England Corn Hole Champion. Live music, BBQs, and a beer tent will accompany the action. Registration opens Monday, August 1, 2016. Mountaintop Worship Service 10AM at the Peak Lodge Reverend Don Coverdale hosts a Christian service overlooking the Mahoosuc Mountains. Boarding the Chondola begins at 9:30AM. 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' TentBloody Mary 10AM to 2PM slopeside at South Ridge One tent dedicated to everything Bloody Mary. We provide the vodka and tomato juice, you choose from over 25 fixings. Music Festival 11AM to 3PM slopeside at South Ridge The Northside Ramblers started jamming at house parties and around firepits in the foothills of the Western mountains of Maine, and their sound is acoustic, classic, and unique. The Mallett Brothers Band's style spans across country, rock and roll, Americana, and alt-country genres. With the release of their fourth studio album, Lights Along the River, the band contiues its mission of sending genuine, heartfelt, and independent music out into the world. All Weekend Sunday River Sports Pre-Season Sale Zipline 9AM to 5PM at the Discovery Center Find great buys on demo equipment, apparel, and this season's newest gear. Mountain Park 10AM to 4PM slopeside at South Ridge Enjoy mountain biking, scenic lift rides, zipline tours, twin zips, 18-hole disc golf, a bungee trampoline, and a climbing wall at Sunday River's Mountain Park. Kids Games and Pony Rides 10AM to 4PM slopeside at South Ridge Back by popular demand, the Lewiston High School Swim Team has created these carnival-like games that kids flock to year after year, like the duck and fish ponds, Plinko, spin the wheel, and dime toss. Add pony rides, face painting, and a bounce house, and you've got a winning formula for happy kids!Meadow Creek Farms Wagon Rides 10AM to 4PM slopeside at South Ridge Come meet Belgian draft horses Ben and Bill and nestle in for a free wagon ride around scenic Sunday River. Butch and Becky from Meadow Creek Farm have been coming to Sunday River for years offering this unique experience to all ages.
