Whether you’ve never laid hands on a plane or whether your dreams are made of marquetry, David can help you grow to the next level. This two day intensive course on woodworking and furniture making combines the quiet comfort of a small Bed & Breakfast far away from the maddening crowds, fresh, fabulous local food and an unusual, up-close-and-personal opportunity to learn from a dedicated artisan. We've designed this mini-vacation for one, your interests and your experience, but it can easily be arranged for two. Either way, you’ll get both, a comprehensive overview of all phases of furniture making with a special emphasis on design as well as plenty of hands-on instruction!

David Talley is a professional furniture maker from Tenants Harbor, Maine. Mostly self taught, his passion for the functional artistry of furniture making developed originally during a few decades of practicing dentistry and boat-building. Now, he is represented by galleries in Maine, New York and Florida and exhibits at the Philadelphia Invitational Furniture Show and The New American Furniture Show, among others. Most importantly, though, he is a patient teacher who loves sharing his passion and helping others discover the joy of woodworking.

The price for one person is $1000 and includes 2 full days of private instruction and all materials, 3 nights of double-occupancy lodging, 3 breakfasts, and 2 delicious box lunches. The date is your choice! Details: woodworking_workshop.html
